it sounds to me like it is probably something not to serious. Could be the plug wires, plug gap, points,condenser or the carb. Could also be a vacumn leak.
I think if the price is right I'd try to bargin it down a bit and buy it. Give it a good tune up and and carb rebuild, see if that takes care of it. If it doesn't then you can sell it to me for half what you paid for it! HA HA
