I am not sure of the exact ratio, but it will be limited by the fuel you can get for it or by what the pistons, rods,crankshaft and bottom end of the block can handle. If you want to spend $4.00 a gallon for 110 Octane racing fuel you can run as high as 13:1. I think after that you will start getting into running Methanol, or Nitro Methanol fuels. If you run regular pump gas in an engine with too high of compression, it can melt or blow holes in the piston tops from the detonation or pinging.It also puts a lot of stress on cranks and rods, but the pistons usually fail first. They will act like a diesel engine but since the fuel is already in the cylinder, it will explode before the right time(way far advanced.)Here is the rule to building something "hot". What do you want to do with it, and How much money do you have! In Drag racing, Money = speed, same for pulling, money = distance.
