Dear old IH put those switches in different places on tractors as the years went by. It's kinda curious why they did this, there was usually some reason other than to create arguments about peculiar characteristics of different year models of the same tractors. I even heard a reason why they went to all metal belt pulleys. I think one of the worst mistakes was doing away with the 4 position-seperate-rim-wheel front wheels like the tractors had up until '58 and going to those cheap reversible disk wheels of the later years. That's just my opinion--it don't mean it's right.
