I had crappy throttle throttle respnce on my 460. the tractor would run slow or fast that was it no middle at all. go up a hill and it would just about die. I checked every thing, even tor apart the governer nothing wrong with it. I noticed that the throttle plate shaft in the carb was real lose you could move it up and down side to side. so I bought a rebuild kit from the IH dealer, it comes with a new shaft and bushings, jets and other stuff. I put that carb back on this past weekend and man it was like a NEW MACHINE it ran smother, I had all the range between slow and OH MY GOD! and it would charge up a hill like it had purpose. I hope Ive helped those who've had this problem because it sucks. Go out in the barn and check that shaft I'll bet it's time for a rebuild. it cost's about 100 bucks, but it's money well spent. course is'nt it ALL when it comes to tractors
