pull type because you can get it into tighter places also you dont have to worry about bottoming-out another concern is if you did get hung-up in a stump or in mud you can always unhook mower and drive away then pull or pick mower free someone will probably say you can do that with-out unhooking but with some tractors the pto and hydro works together so you cant do it that way example 8n ford
