The thermostat lives inside the housing where the large upper radiator hose connnects to the engine (over the water pump). The housing is held in place with 2 capscrews - it's easily removed. When you get the housing off you will find either: A - an empty housing (no thermostat at all), or B - A non-functioning thermostat stuck inside the housing. If you find it's "B", take a large screwdriver and dig the old t'stat out - you will probably destroy whatever is left of the t'stat when you do. Auto Zone stocks a t'stat that looks different from the stock IHC t'stat, but fits and works fine. The stock number #800-180. (Last one I bought was $2.99 - about $15 cheaper than the IHC replacement....)
