For a newer driver, looking to the side for a belly unit is easier. The sickle bar also goes in the same direction as driver turns allowing following a fence line closer and safer. The trailing sickle bar tends to swing opposite at first when turning. If it's possible to get stuck, it's way too wet to be in there cutting in the first place.
