My Dad bought a new gasoline powered 656 in 1965. It was really close in hp to the 560 we had at the time, not quite as much due to more hydraulics on the 656. There were also a few 656 diesels in the area in later years, believe they had a little more lugging ability. He pulled the 4 bottom 14 inch plow shown in the photo. The only pain in the rear with this tractor was the shifting likage, it needed frequent lubrication and adustment, other than that if it had had a diesel engine it would have been excellent, seems like the hp rating was around 65. Diesels actually were rated a little lower but I belive the diesel had more torque. Dad's tractor was nearly new when this photo was taken.
