Put a quart of gas in the tank and hand crank the engine over. You can disconnect the line up at the carb if you don't want gas getting in it yet(if the tank isn't cleaned out yet and carb is rebuilt) or if you want to see it come out if you don't have a drain on the fuel bowl of the carb(kerosene burners have a drain, not sure about gas only models). If the spark plugs are out the engine will turn very easy and it should only take 5-10 revs of the crank handle once the sediment bowl is full to get fuel up to the carb. Be very carefull with that fuel pump. Seems there are always guys looking for those and they are getting a bit tough to find.
