The cast iron tank on the hood has 2 purposes, It takes out the "pulse" from the fuel pump to save wear on the needle valve and it is used on the kerosene tractors to prime the engine with gas,if it died on kero and cooled off. There is a small valve to open and drain the kero out of the fuel bowl on the carb, and then you open the nut on the top of the cast iron tank on the hood and pour in some gas to get it started back up. It does recirculate the fuel back to the fuel pump.I have a 35 F-12 and just went out to look at it again just to be sure, It has 3 bolts in the valve cover, the serial number matching block , no valve cover vent, pipe elbow vent for the block. Not to say mine hasen't been "worked on" in the past(or any of them for that matter), but most 14s I have seen had 2 bolts in the valve cover and the vent also. I have seen a lot of them that were changed over from kerosene models to gas models by an owner. Some still had the gas starting tank inside the kero tank and had the new gas manifolds on them.

How can I explain the sensation and exhilaration I feel when I turn the key and hear the engine come to life (most
