Sam: My apologies, I didn't phrase that well. What I intended to put across was I think you will find a generator a great deal more expensive here in NS than the prices these guys are quoting. We just don't have the volume of these old 6 volt systems, thus no one wants to stock much. The advice you received on a later post on cleaning generator was good. I usually found the regulator to be the thorne in my side. My generator caught fire when I was row cultivating rutabagas, I guess I was watching cultivating to closely and tractor not close enough. At time I needed tractor quickly and had new 6 volt battery. Al Roland suggested the 6 volt Delco altermator. I really didn't want to do that as my tractor was 100% orginal. I havn't regreted the change, I could throw my hand crank away.
