Last weekend the neighbor gave me a good pair of 12.4x38 tires for my H. I believe they are around 70% tread yet and no cracks. Nice stroke of luck for me. Now if someone would just give me a new set of front tires... Took both crankshafts to the machine shop this week, one no good the other out of round (standard bearings on a .010" cut crank). So the one that is no good, but standard size yet, is going to be cut .010" The problem with the crank was that on all of the rod journals about 1/4 of the journal was .0015" higher than the rest. I don't feel like having problems down the road. Machine shop said the head can be saved, all new exhaust seats are going in it (hardened). Also, the kit comes with new valves, springs, and guides so the new guides will also be pressed in. Local CaseIH parts dealer got in my misc. seals and gaskets so hopefully this weekend I can get the liftall unit back into the tractor. I also got a carb kit so I plan to work on getting a good carburetor built up this weekend. Hopefully I will also get the brake seals in and the new brake bands put on. It feels good to finally be putting something back TOGETHER after almost 2 months of disassembly of 2 tractors. Thanks to everyone for the good advice and help so far on this project, couldn't do it without you guys!! Steven
