Ken Updikes book say that the 454 was built in Doncaster, England. I am not familiar with it, never seen one. I have had quite a bit of time with a 1969 444 (gas), mostly for spraying. No real problems with it. Not sure but it could have been built in England too. Had a 4 speed transmission with a high and low range. The 454 had 40 hp, I do not have access to the 444 specs, but would guess a little less power. Price for both seems reasonable, I would select the one in the best condition
