AP, I hadn't ran my Dad's old M for about 10 years and one day about 6 years ago I decided I was going to fire it up..no spark, I took the mag off and took it to a repairman who took some fine sandpaper and rubbed the points until I thought there would be nothing left, he turned it a couple of clicks with a vise grip and said here go bolt it on just like this with #1 at TDC..M started on the second turn of the crank and has been running great ever since. I also like to use a mist bottle with gasoline in it, you can mist it into the carb for a quicker start and keep the tractor running with it until the carb starts sucking and misting fuel into the manifold. I'd give each cylinder 5 or 6 good squirts of oil and spin the engine over several times before installing the plugs back in. This will give you added compression and lube for the initial start up. Good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
