I think that they were put into clips on the outside of the right (sitting on the seat) channel frame mount. My M currently only has only one of these clips left, but it is in excellent condition. I will be needing to take it off, along with the toolbox on the other side, to accomodate the loader that I am putting onto it. I still need to get brackets made. It is a JD #45 loader. I know, Green, but, Green is good! ANY COLOR IS GOOD! 'Specially that ole' rusty brown color! My $.02
