Robert, I changed an H manifold from distillate manifold to a gas reproduction manifold and I never touched a thing on the carb, I wouldn't think you would need to. The distillate manifold just has a heat box to heat up the fuel more. My old M still has the original distillate manifold on it..anyway, my experience with the H is that manifolds have little affect on carb settings. You don't need to change the heads, the M will run fine on gasolene and its new manifold..my Dad farmed for 40 years with a distillate M burning gasolene. You need to check your manifold for leaks such as in the gasket or torquing it down. run some acetlene or propane around the manifold as the tractor is idling..if it smooths out when you apply the gases around the gasket ares , then you know you haver a leak...good luck from Mike in Exeter Ontario
