Oil Guage Valve

My Super A has two valves on the side of the oil pan, one to indicate full, the other to indicate that oil level is low. These guages usually have a hex surface to allow them to be removed/replaced. There are no such surfaces on the valves in this tractor, with the stems being perfectly round. My question is this: are these valves removable for replacement or are they welded to the pan? I need to replace the upper one (broken handle, can't open valve) but don't want to ruin oil pan if valves are not made to be removed.
