1466 ih tick in motor.

im looking at a 1976 ih 1466 with cab, looks to be in fairly decent shape. i was wondering what would cause it to have a skip in the engine? the seller says it has a miss in the head too? what does he mean? if it doesnt take much work to fix it i will try to buy it but if it involves a complete tear down then i will pass. i dont need that kinda hp but it sounds cheap. should i get it or an oliver 2255 both around the same price range. thanks for the help.
