Hi, Steven. Limited experience here, but I think I'm right. The piston in your picture looks like the step-head piston. The Fire Craters Bermuda Ken sent for my SuperC last summer were aluminum. They had three rings instead of four, and the top of the piston was shaped with a dish on one side and a slight crown on the other, I guess to make a more efficient shape for the combustion at the top. Couldn't say how their performance differs from the step-head, except I'd think you'd use a lot less energy just moving pistons if they're aluminum, amking more a available to move the tractor around. The other thing I'm not sure about is whether waht is called a "Fire Crater" varies from engine to engine. Hope I haven't confused things more. Scotty
