Well....an M in heavy clay soil might be a heck of a job. Another consideration is that you need to take into consideration the lay of your land....If you have a slight valley where you want your pond, you can utilize that to make your pond better. For example, you'll only have to make a dam on one side instead of 3 or 4. So, make sure to utilize the landform that God has given ya.... Another thing, some dozer operators in my neck of the woods could dig a half acre pond in a day, and with a D-7 or D-8 CAT, the job would go much better, and it might keep you from having to make a bunch of repairs to the M. If you are carrying a full bucket of clay soil in the M, it'll make a bit of a strain on the wheel bearings as well as all your steering components. We've got a certain person who runs a D-7 CAT in our neighborhood, he'll give you a heck of a discount.....if you supply the "Barley Pop" if you know what I mean.. Jared Jeffries
