Earlier production tractors did have some transmission problems. IH dealers know the serial number break it was changed at. Not all tractors failed. It took alot of hours under heavy load conditions. Very expensive to fix. Not common but you should at least learn about this situation before you buy one. Over all they are a very nice tractor.
