I imagine the tractor was equipped with 38 inch cast wheels off a 1206, maybe through the parts department at a customer's request and white is what was shipped. Have seen 706's with white fenders from the dealership before, assume the same thing happened there. Or else maybe the previous owner (if it was a used tractor) just liked the white wheels and painted them himself. Hard to tell what happened there. The 56 series did feature white wheel weights on red wheels in later years. We had a new 1256 that had wheel breakage problems with the new wedge locks, had to get to the field, the dealer got in 1206 wheels to get us going as the 1256 wheels were on back order and they were white.
