I think there is some confusion about this tractor, a 86 is a late model 656 hydro with a D312 USA diesel in the early ones, then a running change to the German IH built D310 in the later ones, it was because of production line supply shortage of the USA engine. Now if you have a 186, that is a late 1066 hydro with a D436 USA engine only. 86 hydro made same time as 1086/1486, as was a 186.
