Hmmm, Well, tell you what, there was a time when I said I didn't understand four wheel drive on a backhoe either. My old man said it was to give you every advantage you could have. He was right. Now, lets assume your tractor makes your money. If we're assuming that we need to assume you'd spend ALOT of time on it. In that case anything that makes your job easier is worth the effort. Sure you can steer your H fine, but if you had a loader on would you want to do it all day? Would you want to do that and still toss square bales around afterward? Would you pickup your kids as much? (I don't know if you have kids, its just to make a point.)
