Wonder what the combine manufacturers were thinking in those days. They all had high output diesels that would have been much more fuel efficient than the gas V8's. All but Deere offered the V8's, looking back it was not a wise engine choice in my opinion, got to admit it did sound good with the dual exhausts. The 76 815 had the 414 diesel. It had a lot more reserve power pulling mud and was much easier on fuel.
