I'm about half-way through restoring a Little Genius #8 myself. My plow is from the 1930's. It has rubber tires on steel spoked wheels and a steel tail wheel. I based my colors on what ERTL precision toys uses. I was told they do a lot of research to get the colors right. I'm using cream/white on the wheel rims & spokes, blue on the coulters, backsides of plows, and tail wheel, and red on all else including the beams.

Like yours my beams appeared to have a faded blue paint on them. I don't know what that was about. Maybe primer? Maybe certain years? Anyway I'm going to paint them red.
