Lots of advice to sort through. My dad and I hauled our '39 H equiped with loader and cultivators 260 miles home with a '76 F150. Total payload was 7000# with the trailer. It was a long trip at 45- 50 mph...not because we didn't have enough giddyup, rather trailer sway and stopping abilities limited the speed. I think your truck could handle the "M" okay. Just take it easy on the way home.

Trailer brakes are a must.
