The rims were Cadmium Plated and not painted when new. If you want them to be original you can have them replated. Do a web search for "Cadmium Plating" and you will be given a list of firms which do plating. It can be debated whether to use Aluminum, Silver or Argent, but only replating will be the same as new. If you go with paint there will be some overlap in color between the three choices above depending on brand. Something betwen silver and light gray in a clearcoat might be closer. A painted surface will never look exactly like a plated one.
