well...collecting anything, like tractors or computers is more in the eyes of the beholder. my brother has collected many old computers, even rescued some from dumpsters. the bonus room over the garage has about 10 old computers even his first a TRS-80. he still fires up some of them to make sure they keep working, but i agree that their utility is limited unlike old tractors. my cub can still plow, cut hay, cultivate, etc. just like it did 50 years ago even though there are newer tractors that can pull more plows and farm alot faster. those old computers can still run the software that they used 20 years ago even though there are faster computers now with much better software. heck, the smithsonian has an old TRS-80 computer set up there for people to look at. maybe for the computer collectors its just nostalgia just like it is for the tractor collectors.
