Look at the right hand side of the tractor, the side with the distributor/magneto. Up by the #1 spark plug/cylinder there is a tag that should say XX-XX-and a letter. I know of many people who have taken a Super M with bad rearend and combining it with an M with a bad engine. Check it out. It would not surprise me if your engine tag says an X or Y, representing 1952 or 1953. Below the tag is the engine size, with should say C-248 or C-264. The 264 is the Super M. Post it back on here when you find out; I'm interested what you find.
