I am trying to hook and alternator up on my 230 and I have a question about the wiring. There are three wires on it. There is a plug that has a red wire and a white wire and there is a stud on the back of the alternator. The guy at the alternaor shop that checked it over for me told me to run the red wire down to the stud and run a wire from the stud to the amp guage and then to the starter where the hot battery cable attaches. He couldn't really tell me what to do with the white wire. Does this go to the push pull ignition switch and then to the coil? Also, My exhaust pipe broke off at the manifold. Where do you think I can get the manofold rethreaded and the pipe also? I don't have any taps or dies that large. Do you know what size it is?
