Since you are in the UK. I will hope to answer some of your questions. The great IHC company is still in business in the US. It is called Navistar. They build medium duty and heavy duty trucks (lorries to you) and semi truck tractors. under the International name. The construction business is now Dresser or was until recently. the agriculture business was bought by the Case corporation, called CASEIH. Which is now part of New Holland (Fiat of Italy) called CASE NEW HOLLAND. As part of the EU's agreement to that merger, CASEIH had to sell some assets. Namely the Doncaster, UK tractor factory which was bought by Landini, and is called McCormick Tractors International. they are building the same design tractors as the old IH 84 series tractors (C series) The CX is modified somewhat but it is same as what you can get at your local CASEIH dealer until July 2002. Now as of 2002 you can get a McCormick tractor and a International truck. Who would have thought that in 1985 when IHC filed for bankruptcey.
