First live PTO on Farmalls was on the Super MTA. These became common on the 300 and 400 series that followed. The M models did NOT have live pto. The aftermarket clutches that were sometimes installed allowed for "live" pto in the sense that forward motion of the tractor could be stopped using the hand clutch while allowing the pto to run. This setup did NOT allow you to shift gears while the pto was running. It was a separate clutch that mounted on the left brake assembly and allowed the transmission to keep turning by disconnecting the final drive on the left side.
