400 probably uses more fuel than the Super M as it is putting out more hp. I never had a 400 but did have a Super M. I know 300 burns about a gallon more per hour than Super H, I had both, and I am sure the 300 puts out a lot more hp. I also know the fuel cap in question was a recall way back in early 60s for letter series tractors after a couple of them blew up. It was standard on all number series Can't remember for sure, there were injuries and I think a person was killed. I figure it may take a bit of finess, however safety comes first with me. As for letter series Farmalls being different, in fuel tank neck, I don't believe that. I know the A and C are exactly the same as 100, 130, 200 and 230. I know the fuel tank is different, letter series from number series on larger tractors, however the neck is exactly the same. I had 12 of these tractors probably clocked 60,000 hours on em. In 25 years that I farmed, my employees or I never had a lost time accident.
