Crankcase cover? Do you by chance mean the oil pan? The only felt in that neighborhood is the rear main seal on the crankshaft. If that's what you're talking about, I'm pretty sure you can do it with the engine in the tractor. Take off the oil pan, take off the joint between the clutch and the transmission, drop the bellhousing, clutch and flywheel. (This is where the "pretty sure" comes in. I'm not absolutely positive there will be room between the input shaft to the trans and the clutch assembly to get the bellhousing out.) There is a two-piece aluminum retainer bolted to the back of the block casting that holds the felt seal. Unbolt that and pull the upper and lower felts out and replace them. NAPA stocks the gasket kit, believe it or not.
