Well after reading all the posts below I still think I'll put in my 2 cents.I own a 53 Super M and a 54 JD60.They both have their strong points.I'll take the 60s brakes over the SuperM anyday, and thats after rebuilding the SMs brakes and they do work good.I just find it easier to have a pedal for each foot. The hand clutch on the Deere is a pain in the @#%,especially when you are trying to back a kicker rack into a tight spot,Farmall wins that one everytime. The other posts are correct about live pto, hydraulics and power steering. Try a Farmall and a JD and see want you like. On a cool spring nite plowing with either JD or Farmall, listening to a fine tuned motor work and wacthing that light flame come out the exhaust I love them both. But I pull 4/14s with the SM and only 3/14s with the 60.
