Well for one thing alot of times people didn't use the T/A properly and it eventually burnt up,the tractors still operate fine but to replace or rebuild one it can get costly and you have to break the tractor in two to even get to it. Therefore alot of the time it was just never fixed and the tractor was used the way it was The T/A is more of a luxory but it has helped me out mainly when plowing.
