Including purchase price I have $1200 in my H and have yet to pay the machine shop. I expect a $400 to $500 bill from them. The lower end of these engines is pretty bullet proof. I could have got by with rings and rebuilding the head, but I plan on never taking this engine apart again in my lifetime. If the head has been redone and the tires are decent I think $1250 is more than fair, especially if it has a low 1940 serial number it may have some '39 parts on it yet.
