I remember discovering assembly lubes. Seddddd to m'self, that's a great idea. I wouldn't do a job without it. All the same, I tend to regard it more as a rust preventative/stopgap lube until I can get things fired up. Before putting spark to gas, I pull the coil wire and the plugs, and crank the engine maybe a dozen-eighteen cycles, 20-30 seconds or so to a pop with a little breather in between. (The starter won't heat up near as badly as normal with no compression to fight it.) This process gets oil up all the way through the engine, and gets it flowing sooner after your initial startup. Replace the plugs, hook up the coil and, if there's some spot your engine oil didn't reach in the cranking process, then your assembly lube will hold the fort until reinforcements arrive. Works for me. Scotty
