gotta get my two cents worth. I watch all the auctions that i can find, classifieds, or whatever.(trying to collect all the letter series of the farmals) I also perform my own restoration for tractors i find so i know the cost and labor to put these old tractors back together again. i see more and more people just trying to to make a million dollars overnite. example if you just take a plain farmall H. You can buy either locally or just looking a good old h that runs for about $900. nothing pretty but just a good old h that will haul the firewood or plow and disc . Then i see ads and auctions for the same tractor for $3500 and it almost always says -needs a paint job and smokes a little-. if the ad would of said new pistons, rings , clutch, ect.and new paint then ya. all i can say is have patience and it will come. my latest tractor was a 450 with 95% rubber, 2 pt. and everything worked and the paint wasn't that bad either. the tractor needed a new torque but for the $1000 it was worth the wait. glad i found it before someone decided it was worth $9000. done
