Go back and re-read the how ebay works pages, and Haas' reply. Then think about it a bit. Theres no dang point in playing "the bidding game" you'll just lose auctions. Theres only one way to work it. Step #1 you decide what the item is worth. Take shipping into account, if the seller's shipping is high work that into your decision. Step #2 decide how much you want this item. In this step you make a factor to your "how much its worth" want it for what its worth? Use a 1.0 multiplier, in other words you are now ready to pay what its worth. What it really, really, really bad? Use a 2x or 3x multiplier, in other words be prepared to pay 2x or 3x what its worth. If you don't want it so much only plan on paying less than its worth. Then decide how to bid, you can slap your whole value number in (what its worth* multiplier) or start lower and work up. If you just put in the minimum you'll be putting in bids all day. Better to just stick in a big chunk at once and see what happens. If you lose, the other guy wants it more than you. The other option is a sniper, like auctionstealer.com. I'm not a fan of snipers though...
