I know you will get many different opinions on this, but when I was growing up dad bought a McCormick #45 PTO baler. We had 2 tractors, a C and an 8N Ford. We wore the baler out on these tractors. Both saw about equal service on it. I am not telling you the C handled it easily, but full throttle and 1st gear got the job done. I did twist the pto tube off internally once when I dumped the clutch on a jammed up baler. I know this is very small compared to todays standards, but you do what you must when you can't afford a different tractor. BTW I still have both tractors, and they have not been apart since then and run well yet. So the answer is yes it will handle a square baler. I would just attempt to get a smaller one if this is in fact what you want to do, and dont have too many acres to cover.
