39 Hs seem to be a popular topic here lately. I know a fair amount about them but I do have a couple questions. I just bought one that I have had my eye on for many years. The seat pan is shot-almost to the point that it is unsafe to drive. I know the make reproductions of the flip over seat pans but are all the flip over seats the same or is the 39 different because of the different seat post? This seat looks like the upholstery was riveted on rather than being folded inside the metal lip of the pan. I'm sure these aren't being reproduced but that is no big deal. Did the early H hoods use the dzus fasteners on the hood like the A and B or did they just use them on the grille? Mine has the J hooks holding the hood on.
