I've got a 300 U and have experienced similar problems. If you have replaced things such as points, etc - what kind of spark plugs are you using. Are they getting fowled after running for awhile. If so put in D21 spark plugs. Mine was doing that and the hotter plugs fixed it. Todays higher octane gas needs a hotter plug. The other problem I had was junk in the gas tank. It would occassionally plug the outlet and starve the tractor for gas. You may also want to make sure there are no leaks in the carb.intake manfold system. Leaks can get works when the tractor warms up. As for gas coming out of the carb, I've found all my tractors will leak gas from the carb if crank too much with out starting.
