I agree with RPM. The clearances on your pump are probably opening up as the pump gets warmer and allowing fluid to leak back through the gears inside the pump instead of flowing through the pump discharge. Be sure your system is not leaking fluid down into the crankcase - in which case replacement of the pump shaft seal might solve the problem.
