This turbo noise thing harkens me back 32 years when I was in the Army in Vietnam. We had several M51A1 5 ton dump trucks in my unit powered by Mack ENDT673 engines. Loved the sound of those Mack motors, the turbos would sing like nobody's business under load, and when rapidly decellerating under load they would squeal like nobody's business. Cat D7E crawlers did the same thing. Think both of them had Schwitzer (sic?) turbochagers on them.
