I have had the same problem with a 966. All it was is the TA dump valve adjustment bolt needed to be adjusted. Get hold of either an owners manual or a service manual and they will tell you how to do the adjustment properly. Someone probably adjusted the clutch in the past without adjusting the dump valve. While you are at it adjust the transmission brake linkage also so the gears don't clash when shifting on the go. The owners manual also tells you how to adjust the transmission brake.
