I'm not 100% certain but it sounds like its Fordson to me. Is it in a circle that has a bunch of notches on the outside (like a gear). If so I it is probably Fordson. I don't think it was from before 1950. I think it was around 1955-60 that they came out. Good luck. SAm in NS
