A Culti Vision Update

Well here’s an update for those of you that may have read my posts titled “Pre Flight Check” and “Well rested A”.

Today I was working on putting the hydraulics back on the PTO (10 year job); I expect to have that done shortly when I get a couple of new bolts. In the meantime I tuned to the motor. I picked up the new oil filters and some oil, check. I took off the gas tank and drained that stinking old gas, check. Then I went after the carb, which leads me into my next question. It was full of bad gas, and definitely in need of a good cleaning. What I’ve done so far is taken it apart, and soaked it a bit in some carb cleaner, that seemed to help quite a bit. Now when this carb (Zenith btw, also had B23 on it if I remember) was on the tractor and the tractor was running it ran beautiful. Should I be worried about the brass components after sitting in that bad gas? Or should they be ok just after a good cleaning? The float seems ok, I was able to find out if the little needle was sealing or not. I was planning on blowing it with some air to try and further clean out the passages. So does anyone have more advice? What about a carb kit? I was looking at a picture of one on Wenger’s site, but it didn’t look like it had quite the same components. What I really need for sure is the gaskets.
