just offer 800 see what he says because for all you know you might hafta rebuild the engine 2 days after you get it just feel him out he already knows what he wants he just won't tell you cause you might offer more than he wants so he is playing stupid which you should. a tractor is worth what you want to give for it i've seen a 1500$ cub with a belly mower go for 2400$ at action cause the guy wanted it and was willing to pay that for it so just offer 800 and feel him out hope that helps let us know what happens
